Visitor Car Park

Post  hotmech on Mon Jun 08, 2009 12:33 pm

Hi Admin,

Manage to update us the latest status of the committee meeting? and i am more concern about the visitor car part issues.

Over the weekend, it still a big problem to get visitor carpark for our relative who may need to stay over night. If manage to allocate visitor carpark for over night, the guard will ask you to move the car by the next day 8am (ridiculous rules), reason becos of changing guard shifts.
Anyone here facing the same problem?

Anyway action taken by committee so far?

In my opinion, the rules are not ridiculous. They are there for a reason. As you may be aware, the developer did not provide sufficient visitor car parks, hence the issues arising. Outside the guard house, there are only 6 visitor car parks.

Imagine this, we have 480 units in PMH. It is not surprising to have more than 1 unit who has friends/relatives staying over. That is understandable. The guards cannot assume the visitor car will leave early in the morning. What if 5 visitor cars put there overnight and decide to stay for 2 nights? Does that mean the 5 lots are booked by them for 2-3 days? If a visitor knows they are staying overnight, it is suggested to park at any space you can find besides the visitor car park. The rules are there to protect you also. If you have friends coming over, even if it is for a few hours. The chances of having a space is higher than allowing cars to be placed there indefinately. Heck, when my friends come, they park at any space they can find.

This is something I believe the management has to control for the benefit of ALL residents, which is no fault of theirs. This is something we have to endure when the developer does not provide sufficient visitor parking lots. It is not the fault of the management. They have to do the best they can with what we are provided with.

The only thing I agree is reason is due to changing guards. That is absurd Laughing

But this is common issue amongst high rise dwellings. Ideally, developers should provide minimum 2 parking lots for owners these days. It is rare to have a household with only 1 car nowadays. That is why at most, if not all, high rise condos, you will always see cars along the road side. Inevitable.
